The Doctoral Training Department (DFD) is the administrative structure for implementing the doctoral training policy defined by the Doctoral College.
The DFD is a central department of Aix-Marseille Université, headed by an administrative manager.
In accordance with the Doctoral College's internal regulations, the DFD's main missions are to:
- Harmonize doctoral school practices and operations;
- Coordinate the administrative management of doctoral programs and coordinate the networks of doctoral school assistants and school administrators in charge of doctoral programs;
- Prepare, monitor and control the execution of the doctoral training budget;
- Provide doctoral students with a clear and effective platform for interdisciplinary and professional training, as well as career support;
- Set up and monitor doctoral training management indicators;
- Organize and run events to promote doctoral studies;
- Examine applications submitted to the doctoral college council for approval or decision;
- Examine files submitted for signature to the vice-president in charge of doctoral training;
- Prepare annual reports presented by the Doctoral College Director to the Research Committee.
