Les questions migratoires font naître, depuis plusieurs années, divers débats et controverses dans les espaces publics contemporains et a fortiori dans les espaces médiatiques et politiques, soulevant ainsi, nombre d’enjeux de communication publique et politique. Par ailleurs, longtemps confrontée à un « non-lieu de mémoire » historique dans la recherche scientifique, l’immigration continue d’être un champ de recherche complexe. Ce champ évolue au sein de paradigmes politiques, sociaux, historiques et économiques protéiformes à l’image du monde qui nous entoure. Dans ce présent travail de thèse de doctorat, la société civile apparaît au cœur des processus discursifs impactés par ces problématiques, engendrées par les mouvements migratoires, plus particulièrement en Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, terre d’immigration depuis l’Antiquité. Nous questionnons la cohabitation culturelle en sciences de l’information et de la communication dans une approche microsociale, ce que les chercheurs dans notre discipline ont peu étudié. En outre, la vocation principale de ce présent travail de recherche est de centrer l’attention sur la communication des associations humanitaires dont l’objet nodal est la défense des droits des personnes migrantes. Dans cette perspective, cette recherche s’est appuyée sur le modèle empirico-inductif. Nous avons abordé la question autour des stratégies de communication, du répertoire d’action et des répertoires médiatiques des associations humanitaires spécialisées sur ces questions, en nous appuyant, dans une démarche ethnographique, sur l'association la Cimade. For several years now, migration issues have given rise to various debates and controversies in contemporary public spaces, and a fortiori in media and political spaces, thus raising a number of issues of public and political communication. Moreover, long confronted with a historical "non-place of memory" in scientific research, immigration continues to be a complex field of research. This field evolves within protean political, social, historical and economic paradigms that reflect the world around us. In this doctoral thesis, civil society appears at the heart of the discursive processes impacted by these issues, generated by migratory movements, particularly in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, a land of immigration since antiquity. We question the cultural cohabitation in information and communication sciences in a micro-social approach, which researchers in our discipline have little studied. Moreover, the main vocation of this research work is to focus on the communication of humanitarian associations whose nodal object is the defense of the rights of migrant people. In this perspective, this research is based on the empirico-inductive model. We addressed the question of the communication strategies, the repertoire of action and the media repertoires of humanitarian associations specialized in these issues, using an ethnographic approach based on the association Cimade.
